Atlas Masters (Masters of the Atlas) Guide

Overview

The Masters of the Atlas is a secondary Ascendancy-style system introduced in Path of Exile 2’s 0.5 Return of the Ancients update that applies directly to whatever map you are about to open, rather than to your character permanently. The system features three Masters — Jado of the Order of the Djinn (Spycraft), Doryani (Science), and Hilda (Hunting) — each offering 12 passive nodes across 4 rows of 3 choices, with players earning up to 4 points total to spend on their tree. You can only have one Master’s bonuses active per map, but swapping between Masters costs nothing and can be done freely before opening any new zone. All three Masters progress simultaneously and independently — there is no need to “pick one” permanently. Unlock each row of 3 nodes by performing missions for the Masters. This system layers on top of the Atlas Passive Tree and Precursor Tablet system, providing per-map customization that can dramatically shift your farming outcomes for specific encounters. How It Works

Unlocking the Masters

Each Master has a distinct unlock questline:

Jado — Unique Item and Layout Specialist

Jado’s Spycraft tree focuses on Strongbox quality, boss Unique drop chance, and manipulating map layouts. His notable nodes include:

Doryani — The Generalist

Doryani’s Science tree mixes survivability, map density, and loot scaling. He doubles item rarity from Magic monster drops. His notable nodes include:

Hilda — Pinnacle and Elite Specialist

Hilda’s Hunting tree amplifies Rare and Unique Monster difficulty in exchange for proportionally bigger rewards, including a direct bonus to Pinnacle Boss loot. Her notable nodes include:
