Witch
Overview
Wields profane rituals, crippling curses, and armies of undead minions. The Witch splits cleanly into two directions: build a minion army and let them tank while you support, or go full direct-damage caster with chaos and bone spells.
Playstyle Notes
- Minion-focused builds are among the most forgiving in the game since your summons absorb hits for you
- Chaos damage (a Witch specialty) has a natural edge against many resistance setups
- Blood Mage's life-cost casting is the class's highest-risk, highest-reward direction
Good For
- Players who want a forgiving minion-focused league starter
- Anyone drawn to curse-and-debuff playstyles over pure burst damage
- Experienced players looking for the class's higher-skill-ceiling Blood Mage direction
Choosing an Ascendancy
Choosing an Ascendancy
Infernalist is the clear recommended starting point, its fire-and-minion hybrid comes online during leveling and stays forgiving into endgame. Lich is a strong curse-and-chaos endgame direction once you have currency behind you, with real group-play value through Unholy Might. Blood Mage has the highest ceiling of the three but is genuinely difficult to pilot safely, treat it as a build to grow into rather than a starting point.
