Patch 0.5.4c went live on July 16, 2026 (July 17 in GGG’s home timezone), two weeks after 0.5.4b stabilized the Runes of Aldur endgame. It is, by a wide margin, the smallest patch of the league: the official patch notes contain exactly one line — “Added support for the new Supporter Packs” — plus a thank-you. No bug fixes, no balance, no gameplay changes of any kind. This breakdown covers what that line actually enables, and the bug everyone wished had been fixed instead.
Everything below is taken directly from GGG’s official patch notes and announcement posts — line items we could not verify against official sources have been removed from this page.
What the Patch Actually Does: New Supporter Packs
The sole change in 0.5.4c adds client support for the Curse of the Allflame Supporter Packs, the new cosmetic pack series tied to Path of Exile 1’s Curse of the Allflame expansion. Per the official expansion press release, the new Plague and Remidus Supporter Packs feature exclusive armour sets, hideouts, pets and other effects, with all cosmetics fully compatible with Path of Exile 2 — which is precisely why the PoE 2 client needed a patch before they could go on sale.
Two practical notes for PoE 2 players:
- Buying these packs works like any other supporter purchase: you get points plus the cosmetics, usable in both games, and the money funds development of both.
- With the Allflame series arriving, the Mirage Supporter Packs left the Path of Exile 1 & 2 stores permanently when the expansion launched on July 24, per GGG’s official last-chance announcement. If you wanted anything from the Iron Incarcerator or Curator of Wisdom series, that window has closed.
Some third-party patch trackers list two extra gameplay fixes under 0.5.4c — the Verisium Remnant interaction restore and the portal fix for five Grand Expedition maps. Those lines are actually from 0.5.4b Hotfix 3, live since July 3; they appear in the 0.5.4c console build because console patches bundle earlier hotfixes. They are not part of the official PC 0.5.4c notes and are covered in our 0.5.4b breakdown.
The Elephant in the Room: the Oath Rune Bug
A one-line cosmetic patch would normally be unremarkable, but 0.5.4c landed in the middle of the league’s most frustrating outstanding bug. Expedition’s Oath Rune could spawn a monster that simply could not be killed, bricking the encounter. GGG had already fixed one variant of this in 0.5.4b Hotfix 2 back on July 3, but the problem persisted in another form through the 0.5.4c era — the official 0.5.4d patch thread a week later is dominated by players demanding an Oath Rune fix, and the replies to the 0.5.4c notes themselves turned hostile within minutes over a supporter-pack patch shipping while Expedition stayed broken.
GGG has never officially stated which patch introduced this second variant, so we won’t claim one. What the official record does show: the bug was live throughout the 0.5.4c window, and it was finally closed on July 28 by the 0.5.4d Hotfix — “Fixed a bug where the Oath Rune could spawn an unkillable Monster.” If you shelved Expedition farming in mid-July over unkillable Oath Rune monsters, that hotfix is the point where the mechanic became safe to run again.
What This Means for Players
Gameplay-wise, nothing changed with 0.5.4c itself. Your build, your Atlas tree, and your farming routes on July 17 were identical to July 16. The only decision the patch puts in front of you is whether the new supporter packs are worth buying — and if you’re cosmetics-minded, whether to grab them before the next rotation. The fixes that actually mattered for this period of the league arrived elsewhere: the Oath Rune kill in the July 28 0.5.4d Hotfix, and the big shader and stability overhaul in 0.5.4e at the end of the month.
