Kabala, Constrictor Queen Boss Guide (Act 2 Optional)
Phase Breakdown
- Phase 1: BaselineTriggerFight start, in a venom pit beneath the Lost City of KethMechanicA mix of quick melee attacks and wind-based abilities: Wind Shard (a fast close-range wind projectile), Tail Swipe (a wide circular sweep), dagger slashes, and small explosive projectiles thrown from her off-hand.CounterWind Shard requires her to be close, so dodging to the side or simply repositioning out of range handles it easily. Keep moving during Tail Swipe rather than standing still near her.
- Phase 2: 90% Health: Bone SnakesTriggerAround 90% healthMechanicShe channels her own blood into jars placed around the arena, summoning Bone Snakes that attack you.CounterClear the snakes promptly rather than ignoring them. They add up fast if left alive alongside her direct attacks.
- Phase 3: 80% Health: Explosive NovaTriggerAround 80% healthMechanicShe spins in a circle, releasing a large spray of explosive projectiles in a nova pattern that detonate shortly after landing.CounterGet outside the nova's radius during the spin rather than trying to tank through the delayed detonations.
- Phase 4: 70% Health: The Vulnerability WipeTriggerAround 70% healthMechanicShe dives into the sand and creates Bone Walls at every arena entrance except one, then charges a massive arena-wide explosion while applying a 20-second Vulnerability debuff.CounterLocate the single open entrance immediately and move through it before the explosion resolves. This is the fight's real wipe mechanic and shouldn't be tanked.
Most Common Deaths
- Standing still during Tail Swipe or the explosive nova instead of repositioning
- Failing to locate the single open Bone Wall gap before the arena-wide explosion at 70% health
- Letting Bone Snake summons stack up while focused purely on the boss

Kabala, Constrictor Queen is an optional Act 2 boss found hidden underground in the Lost City of Keth, beneath a marked checkpoint area. She deals Chaos and Physical damage and leaves large poison zones that restrict your movement options throughout the fight. Positioning matters more here than in most optional Act 2 encounters.
She’s entirely skippable if you’re rushing the campaign, but the Book of Specialization reward is genuinely useful for any build planning to run two distinct weapon sets, worth the detour on a first playthrough.
Notable Drops
- Book of Specialization on defeat, granting 2 additional Weapon Set Passive Skill Points, a meaningful power boost for dual weapon-set builds
